HR & Operations Associate Intern

Position Overview

Girls Inc. of Chicago is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented HR & Operations Associate Intern between the ages of 16-24 years old to support key administrative initiatives across Human Resources, Finance, and Operations. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, while contributing to meaningful organizational initiatives.

 

The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and able to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

Primary Responsibilities

Human Resources

· Support activities related to the Annual Employee Engagement Survey.

· Assist with the development of recruitment and retention plan; researching trends and proposing effective strategies.

· Support the annual Benefits Open Enrollment process.

· Maintain confidentiality in all personnel-related matters.

 

Finance

· Assist with year-end financial close-out tasks and documentation.

 

Operations

· Lead the development of a comprehensive inventory and organizational tracking process.

· Research best practices for fixed asset disposal and contribute to policy recommendations.

· Prepare presentations, meeting agendas, and meeting minutes.

· Participate in special projects and provide general administrative support as needed.

 

Qualifications

· Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in related discipline

· Great written and verbal communication skills.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

· Ability to handle confidential information with a high level of discretion.

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

· Flexibility, initiative, self-motivated, detail-oriented and follow-through.
